To ensure a safe and focused AI experience for students, MagicSchool is introducing new in-app safeguards for student chat threads. These updates reinforce healthy engagement, transparency, and compliance with upcoming youth AI safety standards.

Message limits for student threads: Chats will automatically close after reaching a limit of approximately 50 messages per thread. Students will see a friendly notice when approaching the limit and can start a new chat anytime.
AI disclosure messages: Students will see clear reminders that they're chatting with AI, not a human.
In-app safety reminders: Periodic prompts will remind students that they are chatting with an AI, and to take breaks.
