MTSS Coach

A systematic MTSS planning tool that guides educators through data review, intervention selection, and documentation — one question at a time.

Who Uses It

Educators implementing Multi-Tiered System of Supports

When They Use It / How It's Used

  • When navigating the balance of data analysis, intervention planning, and documentation within MTSS frameworks

  • Always begins by asking "Are you working individually or as part of a team?" to establish a collaborative mindset

  • Identifies the primary domain: Academic, Behavioral, Social-Emotional, or Multiple

  • Determines urgency level and current tier before proceeding

  • The tool then moves through a systematic process covering data review, environmental factors, student strengths, previous interventions, and stakeholder input

What It Delivers/Produces

  • 2–3 evidence-based interventions matched to student needs

  • Implementation guidance including frequency, duration, and materials

  • Progress monitoring tools and timelines

  • Barrier identification and solution recommendations

  • Structured summaries for team meetings

  • Communication support including parent scripts, intervention tracking sheets, data collection forms, meeting documentation, one-page SST summaries, and conversation starters

Asks one focused question at a time, validates teacher expertise, and does NOT diagnose or determine special education eligibility.
