How can I reuse a custom tool I made in a student room?

Create, save, edit, share, and reuse custom student tools in MagicStudent.

Teachers and Admins can now create, save, edit, and share custom student tools — making it easier to reuse great student-facing AI experiences without starting from scratch. Custom student tool sharing brings the student tool experience closer to what teachers already know from teacher tools, so high-quality creations can spread quickly across a classroom, department, or organization.

What You Can Do

  • Create a custom student tool directly from the Student Tools page

  • Save a custom student tool for future use

  • Reopen and edit a saved custom student tool

  • Share a saved custom student tool with others

  • Save a shared custom student tool as your own copy

  • Save an existing custom student tool as a new tool

  • Search for saved custom student tools

  • Add custom student tools into Student Rooms


How to Create and Save a Custom Student Tool

  1. Go to MagicStudent and select Student Tools.

  2. Choose the tool you want to customize.

  3. Make your customizations.

  4. Click Save to save the tool for future use.

Note: Custom student tools must be created and customized within MagicStudent. Tools customized outside of MagicStudent cannot be added to Student Rooms.


How to Share a Custom Student Tool

  1. Open your saved custom student tool.

  2. Click Share.

  3. Choose Public or Org Only.

  4. Click Copy Link and share it with others.

Note: Org Only sharing is limited to educators within the same organization.


How to Add a Custom Student Tool to a Room

  1. Open the Student Room you want to add the tool to.

  2. Click the three vertical dots and select Manage Room Tools.

  3. Click + Add Tools.

  4. Select your saved custom student tool.

  5. Click Save to Room.
