Student Tools (MagicStudent)
Student Tools are the AI-powered activities available through MagicStudent — the student-facing side of MagicSchool. Unlike Teacher Tools, which are open-ended and teacher-directed, Student Tools operate within activities that teachers design and control.
Teachers create a Student Room, add tools and instructions, and share the room link with students. Students then interact with the AI within the parameters the teacher has set — making it a structured, classroom-safe experience.

How teachers set up Student Tools
To give students access to MagicStudent tools:
1. Navigate to MagicStudent in the left navigation bar.
2. Create a Student Room and add the tools you want students to use.
3. Write instructions for students directly in the room so they know what to do and what the AI is there to help with.
4. Share the room link with your students via Google Classroom, your LMS, or any other platform.
5. Monitor student interactions from the MagicStudent dashboard. You can see all conversations and flag any concerns.

Can students use Teacher Tools?
No. Teacher Tools are only accessible to users with a MagicSchool teacher or admin account. Students access MagicSchool exclusively through MagicStudent rooms created by their teacher.
Can I turn off MagicStudent for my school or district?
Yes. Org Admins can disable MagicStudent for their organization from the Tool Access settings in the Org Admin dashboard. Individual teachers cannot turn it off for their own classrooms independently of the org-level setting.
Do students need to create an account?
No. Students join a MagicStudent room using the link their teacher shares. If your school uses Clever or ClassLink for SSO, students may also access MagicStudent through their portal without a separate account.
Can I see what my students are doing in MagicStudent?
Yes. Teachers and co-teachers have full visibility into student conversations and activity from the MagicStudent dashboard. You can review interactions, monitor engagement, and flag anything that needs follow-up.
How many Student Rooms can I create?
There is no limit on the number of Student Rooms you can create. You can build rooms for different classes, units, or activities and archive them when they are no longer needed.
