No — customizations made to teacher-side tools are not transferable to Student Rooms, and tools customized outside of a student room cannot be added to one. Teacher Tools and Student Room tools operate independently: changes you make to a tool in your teacher account will not carry over to MagicStudent.
To make a tool available to students, you have two options: configure it directly inside a Student Room, or create a Custom Student Tool.
⚙️ Option 1: Customize a Tool Inside a Student Room
Use this option to add and configure a tool for students in a specific room.
Open MagicStudent and select Rooms from the left navigation panel.
Open an existing room or create a new one.
Click Add Tools and select the tool you want to add.
Customize the tool settings — including grade level, instructions, and any other options — directly within the room.
Save the tool to the room.
📝 Note: You can customize student tools at any time by opening the room, clicking the tool, and selecting Edit. Changes apply to new student interactions going forward.
✨ Option 2: Create a Custom Student Tool
Use this option if you want to reuse the tool across rooms and share it with colleagues.
A Custom Student Tool works the same way as a saved template but also generates a direct shareable link. You can design it from scratch, save it, and add it to any Student Room — without needing to share an entire room.
