There are two ways to reuse a custom tool you have built in a Student Room: saving it as a template for use in your own rooms, or creating it as a Custom Student Tool which can also be shared with colleagues.
📋 Option 1: Save as a Template
Use this option if you want to quickly reuse the tool in your own rooms.
Click "Save as Template"
This is located at the bottom of the tool when you are editing it inside a Student Room.
Name and save the template
In a new or existing room, add the same tool
Click "Use Template"
This is located at the bottom of the tool. Select the template you want to use and it will populate the tool with your saved settings.
✨ Option 2: Create a Custom Student Tool
Use this option if you want to reuse the tool across rooms and share it with colleagues.
A Custom Student Tool works the same way as a saved template but also generates a direct shareable link. If you want to customize and share a student tool with your colleagues, this is the way to go.
💡 Tip: Both options let you save and reuse tools across your rooms. If you plan to share with colleagues, a Custom Student Tool is the easier path. It generates a direct link they can add to their own rooms right away.
