Unable to Access MagicSchool Certification Courses

What to do when MagicSchool training courses or embedded videos aren't loading.

MagicSchool's professional development courses are hosted on Skilljar, with training videos embedded via Clueso. If you or your users are unable to load courses or videos, a network content filter is the most common cause.

⚠️ Common Symptoms

  • Course page loads but the video area is blank or shows a broken file icon

  • Videos load on a personal device or home network but not on a school device or network

  • The course platform itself is inaccessible or returns an error page

📝 Note: If content loads on a personal device or mobile hotspot but not on your school network, your district's content filter is almost certainly the cause.

🛠️ Resolution Steps

Step 1: Test on a Different Network

Ask the affected user to try accessing the course on a personal device or mobile hotspot. If it loads there but not on the school network, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Whitelist the Required Domains

Your district's IT administrator will need to allowlist the following domains to allow course content to load on school devices and networks:

  • Skilljar (course platform): *.skilljar.com

  • Clueso (embedded training videos): watchclueso.com

⚠️ Important: Whitelisting must be done by your school or district IT administrator. Teachers and students cannot make these changes themselves.

Step 3: Verify and Test

Once IT has made the updates, ask the affected user to refresh the course page on their school device. The videos should load normally.

📬 Still Having Issues?

If courses or videos are still not loading after whitelisting the domains above, contact MagicSchool support at [email protected]. Please include:

  • A description of what is and isn't loading

  • Whether the issue occurs on all devices or specific ones

  • Which content filtering or security software your district uses

  • Whether IT has confirmed the domains have been allowlisted
