Active Users vs. Total Users: Understanding the Difference

What each user metric means in your MagicSchool organization reporting.

When reviewing usage data for your organization, you'll see two different user counts. Here's what each one means:

Metric

Definition

Active Users

The total number of users who made at least one generation within the selected time period.

Total Users

The total number of users with an account, regardless of whether they have generated any content.

Use Active Users to understand engagement — how many teachers are actually generating content within a given period. Use Total Users to understand your overall account base, including users who have signed up but haven't yet used the platform.
