📢 What's Happening
On October 30, 2026, we're retiring the MagicSchool Chrome extension. After that date it will stop working. We're making this change so we can put our energy into the MagicSchool web app, where you get every MagicSchool tool, Raina, and our latest safety and privacy protections in one place.
✅ What You Should Do
Head to app.magicschool.ai and sign in with the same account you use for the extension.
Bookmark it so it's one click away.
Remove the extension from Chrome — click the puzzle piece icon in your toolbar, click the three dots next to MagicSchool AI, and choose "Remove from Chrome."
⚠️ Important: The extension will stop working on October 30, 2026 regardless of whether it has been removed.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Will I lose any of my work?
No. Your account and everything saved to it live in MagicSchool, not in the extension.
Is there a replacement for the extension?
The MagicSchool web app has everything the extension did and a lot more. Raina, our AI assistant for teachers, is a great place to start if you used the extension to generate content quickly.
I can't remove the extension.
Your school or district probably installed it for you. We're working with district admins directly, and it will stop working on October 30th either way. You can also reach out to your school's IT team.
Why is this happening?
We want every teacher to have the best, safest version of MagicSchool, and that's the web app. Focusing there means faster improvements for everyone.
